Assistant Director of Business & Personnel Services
As the Assistant Director of Business and Personnel Services, George oversees the day to day fiscal and human resources operations of the department. His favorite thing about working at VCU is the ability to interact with such a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. George has been an employee of the VCU community since 2000, having previously held a variety of jobs in the private sector. As a VCU alum, he loves being able to put his Business degree into practical application every day as a part of the Residential Life and Housing family.
Accounts Receivable Clerk
As a Accounts Receivable Clerk Ann is responsible for everything related to student billing/receipts (rate verification, pro-rations, damage assessments, deposit processing) and utility monitoring/assessment. Ann has been a member of the VCU community since 2007, having previously worked a variety of clerical and accounting jobs as well as retail banking. When not at work, she enjoys reading, playing board games, miniatures, painting, making teddy bears and learning to knit.
Human Resource Assistant
As The Human Resources Assistant, Channing is responsible for the employee life cycle which includes onboarding, processing new hire paperwork, conducting background checks, verifying I-9 documents, processing labor distribution changes, overseeing payroll, and processing terminations. When asked, He says his favorite thing about working for VCU is the great Residential Life and Housing team who make it enjoyable to come to work. Channing also values being a part of the hire process that brings so many great students onto the team. He has been a part of the VCU community since 2011, having previously worked as a Human Resource Generalist for a large medical center here in Richmond. Channing has earned a Bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts from VCU and a Bachelor’s degree in English from James Madison University. When not at work, he enjoys drawing as well as painting, reading, increasing his skills in Photoshop and Illustrator, and also creating music.
Accounts Payable Clerk
As The Accounts Payable position, Mildred is responsible for reviewing P-card packets for compliance, processing purchase orders, processing journal vouchers, training new staff on fiscal procedures, and monitoring the department's fixed assets. Her favorite thing about working for VCU is the lasting friendships and relationships that were built during her years as a student and as a member of the staff. Mildred was raised in Halifax County Virginia and has been a part of the VCU community since 1978 as a student, and later on becoming a staff member in 1984. She has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Science from the VCU College of Humanities and Sciences. When not at work, Mildred enjoys involvement with her local church, other parachurch ministries as well as her time spent with friends and family.
