Grace & Broad

How to read your assignment
How to read your Grace & Broad housing assignment: G B 1 - 4115B 1: This assignment reads: Grace & Broad Residence Center, Building 1, 4th Floor, Suite # 4115, Room B, Bed #1. Please note that bed spaces within a room are interchangeable. You and your roommate can decide who gets which bed.

When can 12-month residents move in?

12-month residents can move in August 8 through August 21. Residents will receive time slot sign-up information in their VCU email the week of July 18, 2022. To avoid longer lines and traffic, avoid moving in during the 9-Month move-in dates, August 18-20.

Check-in Tips

  • Check in at the Grace & Broad main entrance, 1000 W. Grace St. Richmond VA, 23220. If you decide to arrive after normal business hours or on a weekend, be prepared to wait for an on-call staff member to check you in.
  • Bring your VCUCard with you to check in. If you do not have your VCUCard, a valid state ID is also accepted.
  • You will be issued your room key.
  • You will not receive a mailbox key, as Grace & Broad residents pick up their mail and packages from the Residence Hall Central Package Center located at 207 N Laurel Street.
  • Moving carts are extremely limited; it is a good idea to bring your own dolly, wagon, or cart.
  • Be sure to follow all Richmond City parking signs and pay for parking as necessary.

Parking and Unloading

Residents will receive a parking pass in their VCU email the week of move-in to use in the West Broad Street parking deck. This parking pass should be printed and placed on the dash of a resident's car. It is only valid for your selected move-in day. There will be unloading zones and parking signs around each residence hall. Residents are asked to unload their items at the curb and then immediately move their vehicle to the designated parking deck. Click here to view or print the Monroe Park Campus Parking Facility Map [PDF].
