When Can Upperclassmen (12-month Resident) Move In?

Upperclass residents (12-month) can start moving in on Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. To avoid large lines and traffic, avoid moving in during 9-Month Move-in on Aug. 17.

What happens at Check-In

  • Check in at the Broad and Belvidere main entrance, 732 West Broad Street Richmond, VA 23220 (corner of Broad and Gilmer). If you decide to arrive after normal business hours or on a weekend, be prepared to wait for an on-call staff member to check you in.
  • Bring your VCU ID with you to check in. If you do not have your VCU ID, a state-issued photo ID is fine.
  • You will be issued your room key. Don't lose your key! The room key is $65 to replace. You will not receive a mailbox key, as Broad and Belvidere residents pick up their mail and packages from the Residence Hall Central Package Center located at 207 N Laurel Street.
  • Moving carts are extremely limited; it is a good idea to bring your own dolly, wagon, or cart.
  • Be sure to follow all Richmond City parking signs and pay for parking as necessary.
