As a community, we are all responsible for helping mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Below are some of the steps that the University and Residential Life and Housing are taking for resident safety.
Move-in has been modified to meet COVID-19 protocols. More information about move-in will be emailed to residents over the summer.
VCU has created a phone number for students to report their exposure and COVID-19 symptoms
Required Face Coverings
VCU requires all staff, students and visitors to wear face coverings in all public spaces, including public spaces in residence halls.
Asymptomatic surveillance testing
All on-campus students are required to participate in mandatory asymptomatic surveillance testing. To monitor COVID-19 within our community, VCU will randomly sample asymptomatic VCU community members for testing each week.
Required Daily Health Checks
All students and staff are required to complete a daily health check, a series of questions about experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
Easy Access to Sanitizer
Hand sanitizer and other cleaning products will be available at stations throughout the residence halls and campus.
Cleaning and Disinfecting
Housekeeping staff will be cleaning common areas, shared bathrooms, and other high traffic areas more frequently.
Isolation and Quarantine Housing
Residential Life and Housing has set aside rooms for isolation and quarantine needs. To learn more about Isolation and Quarantine Housing, please visit our Isolation and Quarantine page.
The above COVID-19 precautions are currently in place for the VCU community. They are subject to change to meet the needs of the residential population. For the most up-to-date processes or to learn more about VCU response to COVID-19, please visit together.vcu.edu and housing.vcu.edu/together.
