Keeping Students Connected While Being Responsible

Residential Life and Housing has a commitment to students' connection to campus. Below are some of the opportunities that students can connect to campus.

Resident Assistants (RA)

RAs have been trained to have intentional conversations with their residents. Through these virtual conversations, RAs will suggest paths of connection to fellow residents, VCU programs and resources.

Partnerships

We have partnered with other VCU departments to give opportunities for students to connect. One of those partnerships is with VCU Rec Sports where we will have community based eSports teams.

Education

As we all know this year will look different. To help students transition to a new way of doing things, Residential Life and Housing will be creating educational materials that will be hosted on our Instagram and played on our streaming TV service.

Counseling Services

VCU Counseling Services have transitioned their help to a physically distant format. Students can talk to a counselor through telehealth appointments, attending online support groups or visit the online help resources at counseling.vcu.edu. Also if a student is in crisis they can call (804) 828-6200 24-hours a day and speak with a crisis clinician.
